Preparation

Dear Lutheran Campformation Families,

Welcome to Lutheran Campformation 2023! We are looking forward to another inspiring and energy packed week this summer. The energy and enthusiasm from last summer was an amazing thing to see. We are hopeful that our participation will be greater than last summer, especially now that we have had one summer to build on after the Covid 19 pandemic. We will have congregations across Arizona and Nevada coming together in Prescott for an exciting week of faith formation and adventure! Campformation’s mission is faith formation for 6th-12th grade youth in an outdoor setting. Campformation has been around for over 60 years. Some of the campers who have attended have gone on to be counselors, adult leaders, youth ministers and pastors! Campformation’s team of pastors and youth leaders have been working for months on this year’s Campformation experience. Each person around the table is passionate about camping ministry, young people and faith formation. I am thankful for this team and their partnership in planning for a safe, fun and faith-filled week!

This year’s camp is at Camp Pinerock in Prescott, AZ. The directors there have been wonderful to work with and we are excited about our third year of Campformation at Camp Pinerock. We will be participating in high-ropes, zipline, swimming, archery, hiking, and much more!

Our theme this year is “Living in God's Time”. This theme will give our youth the opportunity to explore each unique and important part of our Ministry life together. The life and ministry of Jesus unfolds before us through each season of the church calendar. How about, "Christmas in July???"

On behalf of the entire Campformation planning team, we welcome you to Campformation 2023 and look forward to seeing you in July!

God’s Peace,

Craig M. Corbin
