Scavenger Hunts
Find Your Family is a silly Bible game to play with kids for any lesson that has animals, such as Noah’s Ark. It’s sure to have kids giggling!
Noah’s Ark Elementary Bible Game: Find Your Family
Form groups of four. For each group of four, create a different animal family with these four family members: Dad Chicken, Mom Chicken, Sister Chicken, and Baby Chicken (use a different animal for each family).
Give each player one folded slip of paper with an animal and family member on it. On “go,” kids walk around trading papers with everyone else in the room, trying to make as many exchanges as possible. They should not look at the papers they’re receiving.
After two minutes, call out, “Find your family.”
Without speaking, the players find their family members by acting out the animals on their papers. When players find their families, they must sit in order from Dad to Baby in a line on the floor. Then have family members tell their real names to one another and a fun tidbit about themselves, such as their favorite ice cream or animal.
Preteen High-Energy Bible Game: Sneaker Shuffle
Use this fun Bible game for kids to help them learn that they are uniquely made by a loving God!
Preteen High-Energy Bible Game: Sneaker Shuffle
Form two teams and have kids line up single file, facing forward with about 3 feet between each person. The two lines should be directly across from each other. Then have kids each take off their shoes and place them behind their feet.
Say: This is a race. The goal of this race is to be the first team to have all its team members wearing their own shoes. Run forward and slip your feet into the shoes of the person in front of you. As soon as your feet are in those shoes as much as possible, take your feet out, run to the next pair and do the same thing. When you get to the front of your team’s line, run to the back of the line and start over. Keep doing this until you put your own shoes on. The first team to work its way through the line so every team member is wearing his or her shoes wins.
After the game, read aloud Psalm 139:13-16. Then say: God made our feet different from other people’s feet. God made each of us different. What’s one wonderful difference about the person in front of you?
Have each child tell one difference.
